TERMS & CONDITIONS
OUR PROMISE
There are few shoemakers in the UK with the skill and expertise to make bespoke orthopaedic footwear for
clients with the most complex needs. With the help of my small team based in The Yorkshire Dales, we will do our utmost to solve your particular needs using the skills at our disposal.
We will spend the time necessary to assess what can be achieved and then produce footwear you will be
delighted to wear.
We don’t always get it right first time, that’s the nature of the work we do.
But, we cannot take the risk alone, and if you are not
prepared to share the risk with us, then we ask that you entrust your order elsewhere.
ADJUSTMENTS and ALTERATIIONS
Adjustments are made as and when required and will normally be free of charge. It is important to note that
adjustments or alterations after the shoes are finished are all part of having a first pair of shoes made.
CHOICE of STYLE
All our shoes are designed at the time of ordering and consideration is always given to the suitability of the style for
people with problem feet
On occasions, we might suggest that a style of shoe (in particular ladies court shoes) may be more difficult to make
due to the nature of any foot problems or constructionmethods.
Although I am pleased to explore ways of over-coming anysuch difficulties, it must be understood that this work will be taken on entirely at the customers own risk. Those customers will be asked to sign a form to that effect.
PAYMENT SCHEDULES
All payments must be made as they become due as set out on the Footwear Order. I will consider any request to review the payment options if there is difficulty meeting the payment options.
NON – PRESCRIPTION FOOTWEAR
Mark Slee t/a Sleeshoes is not registered with the Health Professionals Council and as such is not able to
prescribe an appliance or footwear. You are aware that any instruction for an appliance or footwear is made by
you the client and agreed with me the manufacturer before work can commence.
In all matters I am only able to advise a course of action or specific relating to an appliance or footwear based on
my knowledge and experience within my area of expertise. If you wish to have your appliance or footwear made
to prescription you should consult with a qualified orthotist or other health professional registered with the Health
Professionals Council.
AGREEMENT
• I have read and understood the terms and conditions stated in this order for footwear are a true reflection of my
requirements. This includes the following statements.
• When assessing clients for their footwear we always try to be positive about what the shoes can do for your
mobility and wellbeing. However, there is no guarantee that the shoes will on their own, provide all the answers.
• If at any time you wish to cancel your order before completion, you will be required to pay for all the work
undertaken to date. We are only able to offer refunds in exceptional circumstances where it is clear there is a
fault in manufacturing. This is because there are often other issues which affect the functionality of the feet.
• For all the above reasons, there are no guarantees, but there are promises that we will work with you until we
• have achieved the best possible outcome for you. This is a journey we both undertake knowing the risks
involved.
• I understand that the deposit paid (1/3 of the order) cannot be refunded if the lasts are made at the time of
ordering, otherwise non-refundable after 7 days of order.
• I confirm I have no medical condition which might affect the size/swelling of my feet and/or ankles that I have
not already advised of, and I undertake to inform Sleeshoes of any change in my condition.
• I agree to have my details stored on the customer database.
